FreshBooks - Login and Account Access Error Guide
FreshBooks Login Error: Fix Account Access and Authentication Problems
FreshBooks is showing a login error -- either "Invalid email or password", "Account not found", "Too many failed attempts -- account locked", or login appears to succeed but immediately redirects back to the login page.
At QuickFix Bookkeeping, FreshBooks login errors fall into four categories, each with a different fix. The fastest path to resolution is identifying which category applies before attempting any troubleshooting steps.
The QuickFix Bookkeeping Distinction
FreshBooks login errors split into four distinct types. Identifying the type determines the fix in under 2 minutes.
Wrong credentials
The email or password is incorrect. FreshBooks accounts can be associated with multiple email addresses if the user has used Google or Apple sign-in at different points. Try all emails associated with the account.
Account locked or suspended
FreshBooks locks accounts after too many failed login attempts. Accounts can also be suspended for billing issues on the subscription. The fix is different for each: locked accounts unlock automatically after 30 minutes or via email reset; suspended accounts require a billing resolution.
First check: Try the password reset flow before any other troubleshooting. If the reset email arrives and the new password works, the issue was simply wrong credentials. If the reset email does not arrive, the email address is wrong or the account does not exist.

What it means
FreshBooks is showing a login error -- either "Invalid email or password", "Account not found", "Too many failed attempts -- account locked", or login appears to succeed but immediately redirects back to the login page.
What Causes This Error?
Wrong Password or Email Address
The most common cause. FreshBooks users often have multiple email addresses across accounts, especially if they signed up with Google or Apple at one point and then switched to email/password login.
Account Locked After Failed Attempts
FreshBooks locks accounts temporarily after multiple failed login attempts. The lockout lasts approximately 30 minutes, after which normal login resumes.
Account Suspended Due to Billing Issue
A failed payment on the FreshBooks subscription can result in account suspension. The account exists but login is blocked until the billing issue is resolved through the FreshBooks customer portal.
Browser Cookie or Cache Conflict
Stale authentication cookies or cached session data in the browser cause the login to appear successful but then redirect back to the login page immediately after.
